An Analysis of the Degree of Income and Welfare Inequality among Urban Households in Korea in 1984 (Written in Korean)
Abstract
본 연구에서는 1984년 한 해의 『도시가계연보』 (전산테이프자료)를 이용해 도시가구 계층간 및 계층내의 소득 및 소비 후생불평등도를 추정하였으며 그 요인을 근로소득과 재산소득의 측면에서 찾아보았다. 본 연구의 주요실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. ①도시가구의 불평등을 좌우하는 것은 재산소득의 유무이며 ②근로소득의 불평등은 주로 학력간 임금격차에서 비롯되고 있으며 ③재산소득의 불평등은 자본이득(capital gain)을 좌우하는 일반물가수준의 불안정에서 비롯되고 있다. 따라서 불평등의 개선을 위해서는 무엇보다도 먼저 물가수준의 안정이 최우선 조건이며 이와 더불어 학력간 임금격차를 완화시키는 노력도 병행되어야 할 것으로 보인다.
